Hi everyone, Michelle here to share a layout featuring the most gorgeous “Lavender Love ” collection – wow, a whole lot of purpliciousness.
Have to admit that I did a wee happy dance and may have had a wee fist pump moment whilst unpacking my design team kit – more than a little bit excited. I’m nothing but honest.
Let me share a little about how I put this layout together.
My base is a cake liner – yes, it truly is and I have lifted some of the top cover with my finger nail so that you can see a little more of the rawness of the corrugated look. I have used a lace doily edge punch and cut four 1”x12” strips of the gingham looking patterned paper and then finger pleated and adhered to the underside of the cake liner. I always add a layer underneath the bottom of my circular layouts using either a piece of white cardstock or photocopy paper – draw around the edge of the cake liner and cut a circle so that I could use it underneath to tidy and cover the edge pieces – hope that it does make sense?
After ooh-ing and aah-ing a little more at the gorgeous 12×12 papers in this collection, I selected a few patterned papers and cut numerous rectangle shapes, distressed and inked the edges – using a few foam dots here and then I have layered and added a little height to the layers of my paper cluster – tucking in a few ephemera die cuts until I was happy at the way they were all coming together. Adding a few more layers of ephemera pieces, under and around my photo, a few crafting fibres, some floral blooms, a little gesso, some pearls and art stones and I was happy with the finished layout.
