Hi everyone, Michelle here and I’m back to share a little more creativity – and no, you aren’t seeing double – but you are seeing the same base card design using two different collections – the gorgeous Elegance collection and the purplicious tones from Couture Creations Lavender Love collection.

For your base cut two pieces of cardstock.

4 ¼” x 9”

Score at 1 ¼”, 2 ½”, 5 ¾”

2 ½” x 8 ½”

Score at 5 ½”

Make sure your score lines are crisp. Choose your patterned paper and cut each rectangle ¼” smaller in size for each panel.

Panel 1” x 4”

Panel 3” x 4” – cut two

Panel 2 ¼” x 5 ¼” – for the long skinny front panel

The card I’ve made using the Elegance collection has a series of floral pieces from the ephemera collection on the front and between each layer I have used mounted foam strips and dots and I have also added a little muslin and some crafting fibres. To make sure everything holds together well I have also used a little liquid glue adhesive. I’ve stamped my sentiment on a white cardstock background. And if you look closely you will see that I have used the soft green tiny adhesive pearls on this card.

Once I had made my card, I looked to the reverse of the card and decided to add another layer of cardstock, papers and ephemera to make my card a little sturdier. On using the ‘label’ I thought to then make this my ‘writing area’ of my card. Now when you love the way a card has come together – well why not make another one at the same time. This time I turned to my purpliciousness side and pulled out the Lavender collection. I’ve cut my base using a gorgeous purple cardstock and then I’ve chosen my patterned paper from the small patterned paper pad.

Some time ago I had made a tag which you will have seen from a previous post. I’ve tweaked it a little; added some bling to my butterfly and cut out some hearts and added some pearls and o-rings and attached to my twine – using my tag and forming the focus of the front panel of my card. On the reverse of my card I’ve cut two panels, one using the gingham patterned paper and I’ve also added a plain white cardstock panel. Making the card a little more sturdier, makes it stand better.

Perhaps we should challenge you all – to make two cards, using one design, but using two different collections.
