Hi everyone, Michelle here and I’m here to share a card with you – my version of the swing gate card.

Cut cardstock base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ – score in half – the front of  the card is now 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.  Open the card flat and place the front of the card on your cutter and cut away the top half or 2 3/4″ from your card – keep this piece as you are going to use it on the front of your card as well, adhered to the swing gate portion of your card.

I’ve used the gorgeous Vintage Tea collection of papers for this card – floral and feminine – beautifully floral papers.

Choosing your papers you need to cut as follows :

1 piece — 5 1/4″ x 4″
3 pieces — 2 1/2″ x 4″
1 piece — 2 1/2 x 2″

NOTE : TIP: I chose my floral patterned paper to have floral pieces on the edges around my card.

Ink edges of patterned paper before adhering to your cardstock. Ink edges of card.
I have made a very small envelope and inked around the edges.

I placed a sentiment inside/message inside my envelope and then tied it up with string and added a pearl to either end before knotting each end.  I have pulled apart one of the Couture Creations 2025 calendars, rolled the month of March calendar tab as a scroll and glued to the top.

Using foam mounting tape/squares adhere just off centre of your front panel. A small craft peg has been glued to the envelope and then I have added a floral cluster to finish it off. A little chalk paint has been added to tone down the floral cluster. A special card for a special person – and surprisingly quick to put together once all the pieces have been cut.

A card that could be made in bulk using all the calendar tabs – ready for gifting.

Until next time … happy crafting. Michelle. XX
