Hi everyone, I’m back to share a layout featuring the gorgeous Lavender Love collection.

The purples in this collection just make my heart smile – truly.  Let me share a little about how I put this layout together.

Base of layout 12”x12” white cardstock.

Using the papers from the collection kit that comes with an ephemera pack together with the smaller gingham square paper from the 6.5”x6.5” paper pad. Cut a piece of gingham patterned paper a smidgeon under 9”x8” and then hand sew using a purple coloured embroidery cotton. Hand sewing just adds a little something extra to your creativity – it’s inexpensive, just a little time consuming – but can be done whilst sitting in front of the TV.

Cut a 12” x 3” strip from the patterned paper that has the bottom half full of lavender florals. Such a beautiful paper and have it peeking out – adhere this underneath the gingham patterned paper. Cut rectangles of patterned paper to use for layering behind your photo, tuck in lots of different pieces of ephemera pieces for visual appeal. Make a few different size tags in coloured cardstock, punch and tie with twine. I’ve also used a light black card to make the purple colours pop.

Die cut the dragonfly die through your die cutting machine on white cardstock and then dab your ink pad on your crafting mat and squirt a little water. Turn your dragonfly upside down and drag it through the watered down colour. When dry add a little liquid adhesive, a very light coat with a paintbrush and then sprinkle a little sparkle dust over the top. Once completely dry lightly brush a little gesso to tone it down a little, but leave enough colour so that you can see the purple tones and the sparkle. I’ve also used two dies from previous Couture Creations releases – a foliage die and a strip die.

Build your embellishment cluster to the right of your photo [see photo] and tuck in your additional bits and pieces – a little foliage, layers of ephemera pieces, lilac mulberry paper lavender stems – I’ve cut one of these in half and tucked in a few stamens and crafting fibres, added some art stones and sequins and finished with a light touch of gesso.

It’s so easy to be creative with this stunning collection. Have fun.  🙂
