Hi everyone, Michelle back to share a little creativity with the gorgeous Couture Creations Earthy Delights collection. When I say gorgeous, it really is a fabulous collection to use for both masculine and feminine cards – really gender neutral.
Today I am sharing two cards. I have used the Battle Fatigue cardstock as the base for both cards.
Cut cardstock 6” x 5 ¼” and score in half – so the front of your card you’re now working with is 3” x 5 ¼”. Choose a piece of patterned paper from the small paper pad and cut a rectangle 2 ¾” by 5”.
Cut out a tag shape – I’ve used the Couture Creation small tag die from an old collection. Now, select either a white cardstock or another patterned paper from this collection and cut another tag shape, a smidgeon bigger, just a very small allowance around the edge of the tag to make another layer.
Ink all layers before adhering to cardstock base.
Cut a piece of cardstock – once again I have used the Battlestock Fatigue – creating a small pouch – cut cardstock 2 ½” x 2 ¼” wide – score either side ¼” and fold under flap and using a round punch, punch away about half a circle at the top to make a round – hope that makes sense – you are using the pouch to tuck pieces of foliage inside from the ephemera set.
Before you start adding the ephemera pieces, wrap a little light weight twine around your pouch, layer in your ephemera and tuck in some crafting fibres and then add a layer of double sided foam dots under your pouch just before you adhere to your tags. To add height between my ephemera layers I have also used the double sided foam dots from the Couture Creations team – recommend these wee beauties.
Now it’s time to add all those bitsers to embellish the front of your card. You all probably know by now that I love adding dangly bits to my creativity.Hearts, o-rings, pearls and a stamped image and there you have you it.
Now for my second card:: This one is slightly bigger.
Cut cardstock 6” x 6” – score in half – so the front of this card you’re now working with is 3” x 6”. Using the packaging of the ephemera set [nothing goes to waste] cut a layer of the packaging material 5 ¾” x 2 ¾”. Adhere. Using white cardstock I’ve cut a frame and used that as a layer on top of the packaging. Stamp, colour and die cut some feathers using the Earthy Delights stamps and dies – feather set. Tie together with a little twine. Cut some of the small leaf clusters from the patterned papers.
Now build your embellishment cluster using a little muslin, pull it apart with your finger tips to give it that whispy look, tuck in a few crafting fibres, add a sentiment, a little bling, a few flowers, some o-rings, pearls and a heart and you are done.
Happy crafting everyone. Until next time
