I have fallen in love with this simple way of foiling papers and creating different effects for my cards and layouts.
Step 1 – Cut some Geranium flowers out of white cardstock. I used some shimmer mists to add colour to them in orange, purple and green.
Step 2 – Select some butterflies from your Ephemera pack to use on your layout. Trim the excess white border around the butterflies off, and trim the word strip to length.
Step 3 – Heat up the GoPress and Foil platform. Scrunch up some copper hotfoil. Trim a piece of Butterfly Garden patterned paper to measure 6×4″ (15x10cm) to foil.
Step 4 – Open up the foil and place it face down onto the platform. Place the patterned paper piece onto the foil face down with the side you want to foil.
Step 5 – Add some shims, close the lid and let it sit until the light turns green and then through the platform of the GoPress and foil machine through your GoCut and Emboss machine or manual die cutting machine.
Step 6 – Peel off the foil piece to reveal your gorgeous piece of foiled paper.
Step 7 – I created even more with pieces of paper, with less foiling these created some stunning effects. These will make great cards backgrounds too.
Step 8 – Assemble your layout and add elements from the Ephemera pack and die-cuts as desired.
Adding some extra elements from my craft stash to create a cluster with the die-cut Geranium flowers. Group the butterflies for a clean and simple look and add a stamped sentiment.
I love how the patterned paper bits peak through the foil to create a stunning effect.
