Hello everyone, Fiona here today with my project created with the new Lavendar Love collection. I have a video tutorial as well. I created a cover for a cheap notebook. Using a A5 writing pad from the cheap shop and cut about ¼ in off one side and the bottom to have it fit the cover they so make a lovely cheap gift or something to sell at a markets
Instructions
Trim Lavender Love 12×12 card stock down to 12″ x 8.5″ inches keeping the cut off piece of cardstock to create pockets. Score the paper along the 12-inch side at
5’7/8 and 6’1/8 (this will create the spine) Fold along the scored lines. Using the scrap of cut of cardstock – create 2 pockets that will be on the inside of the front and back cover, glue them into place on the side and bottom of the pocket (this was to make it easier to put things in and out of the pocket). I also cut a small V shape into the pockets, so they didn’t impede the opening and closing of the cover.
To decorate the front cover
- Cut 3 – 1.5″ x 1.25″ in cardstock
- Cut 3 – 0.5″ x 3’7/8″ in card stock
- Cut 1 – 3’5/8 x 1.25″ in card stock
- 1 butterfly and 1 word (Delightful sentiment) and note tag from the Ephemera die set.
- Fussy cut wheelbarrow from the patterned papers in the Lavender Love collection Paper #8 – CO728747
- Create a fence with the 5’1/2 x1’1/4 and the ½ x3’7/8-inch pieces of cardstock
- With the 3’5/8 x 1’1/4-inch strip attach the sentiment word(delightful)
- Finally attach all elements to the front cover using the Couture Creations art glue.
Attaching the pad, was totally wasy as it had a hard cardboard back on it so I just slipped it into the back pocket and then trimmed it down along the bottom and one side approximately ¼ inch. Using a ruler and a Stanley knife making a few passes until It was right the way through it, including the cardboard backing.
