Hi  and Good day to you all, Fiona here today and I hope you have all been keeping well. Today we are going to make some coasters from the Couture Creations beautiful Australian Natural Beauties and Elegance collection.

Instructions

Cut 4  – 10 x 10cm papers from the AUSTRALIA’S NATURAL BEAUTIES collection.

Cut 4  – 10 x 10cm thin cork.

If you are adding any of the embellishments to your coaster grab them now,  I added some embellishments out of the embellishment packet and also cut a koala from the paper collection, so that I had 4 marsupials on my coasters.  I then added some embossing to the edge of each of my embellishments using the embossing ink pen, then adding the ink around the white edges of the embellishments and sprinkled some gold embossing powder to them and heat set them. Using The Tacky Glue, mix this with a bit of water and seal all your paper’s coasters and embellishments on both sides, giving it at least 2 coats. I painted one side with vertical strokes then horizontal strokes to make sure I covered the whole surface,  don’t forget to do the edges using your heat gun carefully dry in-between coats.

Once all dry,  with the Quick Dry Adhesive  Glue, attach your papers and embellishments to the coaster bases. Using a brayer, ensure all are adhered flat against the coaster blanks. Once dry trim off any excess paper so that they are flush with your coaster blank. You may need to add a small amount of Tacky glue to any edges. Set aside to dry and clean up your area ready to do some resin on your coasters.

Resin

Prepare the cork coasters for resin,  make sure everything is glued down and sealed well, get some masking tape and mask the underside of your coasters right up to the edge of your coasters, you want it to sit right on the very edge of the coaster (check out the video) and it will show you all how this was done.  You will need a flat area where you can leave your project to cure 12 hours after you have poured the resin, you will need to take the masking tape off.

Mix the resin up to your manufactures specifications,  I’m using Couture Creations Clear Casting Resin. This resin is essentially an art resin, so it’s designed for these types of small projects where you only want thin layers. Hope you have enjoyed this project and I’ll see you in the next one.  YOU TUBE : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvD5-lFV0FE&t=23s
