I’ve created something completely different today. I don’t know about you, but I love making fun folds. They just seem to have that wow factor. And when you add gorgeous papers to the mix, you can’t lose. To that end, I am using the beautiful Vintage Tea Collection. You don’t need any dies for this project, but you do need either a scoring board, or a way to score your cardstock.
Begin by cutting the cardstock for the base. You need one piece of each size:
- 7”x8” scored every 1” on the long side. Fold mountain and valley, finishing with a mountain. Burnish to ensure you have a crisp edge.
- 10”x4” – score at the 5” mark on the long side. Again burnish to ensure you have a crisp edge.
At this point, cut the design paper you will use for the main image. I left a small border around the edge, but you may prefer not to, or you might decide to use an additional layer. Secure it to the front of the second piece you cut.
Next you will cut a piece of matching or contrasting design paper to go along the front edge of the accordion fold. You can use a scrap from the 6.5cm x 6.5cm paper pack. It doesn’t need to go the entire width as it will be covered by your main image. Once you’ve done that, you can add your main image. I used wet glue to secure that scored piece to the accordion piece, then let it dry. While that was happening, I put together the 3D Push Out set using foam tape. By this time, the glue was perfectly dry and I knew it wouldn’t move. I added the 3D piece to the top left corner of my main image. Then I glued the back of the main image cardstock to the back of the accordion fold, ensuring it was lined up correctly.
Lastly, I added a greeting from the same paper pack, and a small flower from the ephemera pack. This card didn’t take long, and could be used for just about any celebration.
