We have, no doubt, all experienced having small pieces of design paper left over after creating. I’ve been making a ton of projects lately using the gorgeous new Lavender Love Collection and ended up with a ton of small pieces that, at first, seemed unusable. I hate wasting craft supplies, so decided to make some unique cards using my leftovers. Most were quite narrow, but one piece was a little wider, and had a beautiful image on it. (I’d cut off a strip from the other side.) I had enough scraps on my craft table to make at least two cards, and you can see them here.
If you have wider pieces, but not enough to do much with, think about tearing those in half. Don’t forget Couture Creations Design Papers are double sided, so you can get two looks from one larger paper scrap. Before gluing them down, lay the pieces on to the cardstock. You may need to play around to get the look you want. After adhering the pieces down, I reached for some of my smaller scraps and stamped greetings on them. In this case, I needed sympathy cards, so used an appropriate stamp set. (Details below.)
You can, of course, change out the greeting by using a different stamp set, or greetings from the Lavender Love Ephemera set.
I do hope you give this a try – it’s a really simple way to create a very unique card, and helps with some of your small scraps that are too small for anything else.
