Hi everyone, it’s Cheryl here. I have something completely different today. I’ve made a card folio with less than four sheets of A4 cardstock, two 12×12 sheets of design paper EARTHY DELIGHTS , plus items for decorating the front cover. As you may know, I’ve created several mini albums and folios in the past, but all have been made following directions from others. This time I wanted to create something without directions, and so I did! I began by taking one piece of A4 cardstock. This is the base. Cut it to the width you want. Make sure it is an even length as you need to score a spine in the centre. (It must be even on either side.) I made my spine 1.5cm (or 1 inch). You can make it deeper if that works better for you.
Tanking two more pieces of A4 cardstock, and again cut them down – both to the same length. These would become the front and back cover of the card folio. In my case, I cut them to 14cm wide. This gave me a 1.5cm (or 1 inch) overlap to join onto the front cover, and left the flap with the same gap when closed.
After joining the front and back covers to my folio, I added the design paper EARTHY DELIGHTS. I used one design for the inside, and another for the outside. Lastly I added pockets. For the front and back pockets, I also added a strip of gold mirror foil, for added decoration.
To make the pockets, I measured the width required, then added 1.5cm (or 1 inch) on three sides. I added my design paper, the gold strip, then lastly glued the pockets down. (I didn’t add the gold strip on the inside pockets, but you can do it if you want to.)
Lastly, I decorated the front cover using dies, stamps and Ephemera from the Earthy Delights Collection.
