Hi everyone, it’s Cheryl with you today and I’m sharing two mixed media cards. I created the backgrounds using the Gel Printing Plate, alcohol inks, and acrylic paints. For the first card, which is predominately pink, I love the glittery background created with the Golden Age Alcohol Inks, which have glitter through them.
Using the Couture Creations Copper Glitter Card, I created a frame using the Modern Essentials Nesting Bracket Frames. (If you don’t have this set, any nesting dies should do the same thing.) I used the frame for this first card, and kept the inside part for the second. Before adhering the frame down onto my background, I addes some washi tape, I masked off the area around where the frame would go. Then I stamped the top part (only) of the Homely Florals Graceful Protea Stamp, so it appeared to be hanging down from the frame.Once that was done, I added the frame to the topper, then arranged ephemera from the Homely Florals Die Cut Ephemera set.
For my second card , I created a background with acrylic paints on the Gel Printing plate. The flower pattern you can see was made with a pastry rolling pin that has daisies all over it. I picked that up for a few dollars at the cooking section of a department store years ago. It makes great backgrounds on the gel printing plate, as you can see.
I then took the leftover inside piece from the Modern Essentials Nesting Bracket Frames and lifted it up with Adhesive Foam Rectangles and adhered that to the base. I then added some Homely Florals Ephemera, lifting the front two flowers. Lastly adding a greeting at the top. It is from the Homely Florals Ephemera set.
