Hi everyone, it’s Cheryl with you today and I’m sharing an elegant card I created using the gorgeous new Lavender Love Collection.
The card is simple and takes around ten minutes to make. I started with a white card base and added cardstock in a colour matching the design paper to it. I cut the cardstock topper at around the three quarters width, to save cardstock. Next, I cut a narrow strip from one sheet of the new Lavender Love collection (C0728746), enough to completely cover the cardstock already glued down. Then ripped it close to the edge. I often talk about how useful the narrow strip is that you find on the top of all 12×12 design papers, and we’re going to use one for this card.
The strip I used has come from C0728745. I cut then glued that down, leaving a small border on the left. Before adding the piece to the card base, I added foam tape to give the card some dimension. Taking both the large flower blooms, and the basket die cut from the Ephemera packet, I did a bit of cutting to enable me to weave the flowers in and out of the basket. I laid the two together, and worked out where I wanted to cut, and then simply cut. You can’t do any damage (it’s only paper!) so cut where you think it’s necessary.
Once I was happy, I then glued the flowers behind the basket, then added foam tape only to the right hand side of the combined image, as part of the image would be on the already raised paper strip on the left. For the lefthand section, I added only glue. Last of all, I adhered the “Many Thanks” Ephemera element, and glued it flat across the basket.
This card could be used for just about any celebration. You could dress it up a little by adding touches of foil, or by adding matching adhesive pearls, depending on the usage. The Ephemera pack (which is included in the 12×12 collection pack, or available separately) has several greetings to choose from.
