Christmas Tall Card with Cheryl

Hi everyone, it’s Cheryl here with you today. I have not created tall cards before, so this was a first for me, but I’m very happy with the results. This was an extremely simple card to make, and didn’t take very long. I began by creating my alcohol ink background. (I’ve listed the colours I used below.) *Don’t forget, you must use synthetic paper with alcohol inks or they won’t react properly. I put my background aside to dry completely, which only takes a few minutes at most. While it dried, I cut out my small die pieces – the gifts and the scalloped rectangles I would place my gifts on. I glued those pieces together and set aside while I cut out my now dry background using the second largest scalloped die. Using red cardstock, I cut a mat about 1/8” larger all around than the scalloped die, and glued it to my tall card base. Finally I glued all the pieces together. The entire process took less than fifteen minutes. This is a card you could easily mass produce and have a lot of cards in a very short period of time. There are lots of way you could make this card so that each one is different – change out the colour of the mat, the colour of the gifts, and the matting for the gifts. I haven’t done it here, but you could move the small rectangles to be closer together, and stamp “Merry Christmas” below them, or add the Merry Christmas die that is included with the Happy Holidays Tall Card Nesting Die set (C0728532).
