Hello everyone. It’s Cheryl here with another card creation for you. This one uses the gorgeous new Blues by You collection. This card requires colouring, but if you’re like me, you will find the colouring very relaxing.

I started by stamping the Blues By You Oriental Poppies image (using the Precision Stamp Press) onto blending paper using the Black Stamp and Colour Outline Ink Pad. This is specifically for colouring with alcohol markers, and will stop the image from spreading as you colour. Once I’d finished colouring the image, I added Crystal Clear Glitter  Winkles to one of the flowers to give it some sparkle and make it stand out.

Taking a leftover piece of dark blue design paper, I embossed it using the Earthly Delights Fern Leaf embossing folder. After cutting out the coloured image using the matching die, I glued that to the embossed piece, then glued the topper to the cardbase. I had already decided to add the “Celebrate” die-cut to my card. To this end, I took a scrap of blending card and coloured it with the deep red Twin Tip Alcohol Ink Marker I’d used on the centre image to make it stand out. I cut out one white piece of the same die-cut to offset behind the red die-cut. I then glued it down. I thought it looked pretty good, but once I glued it down, it seemed to blend in to the flowers, so I then had to find a way to fix it. (Remember, there are no mistakes in crafting!)

This time I took the green marker I’d used on the greenery of the coloured image. After colouring another piece of blending card, this time with green, I cut it out, and glued that to the die-cut already glued down. It meant the die-cut had a lot of height to it, and stood out even better. (If you look carefully at the image, you can see a bit of the red peeking through.) Colouring another scrap of blending card with the same green marker, I then took a stamp from the Celebrate stamp and die set that said “You are Amazing”. Instead of stamping them as a whole, I only wanted the first and last words. That meant my card said Celebrate Amazing You.

To achieve that, I took the stamp (which I’d placed on the stamping block) and covered are amazing with clear tape, added ink, then removed the tape. I repeated the process, this time covering you are. I am not one to cut stamps up, and this is an old but trusted method that gives the same result. Once it was finished, I cut the words out and added them to the card using double sided foam tape.

This card took a little longer than usual due to the colouring. As I mentioned earlier, I do find it quite relaxing, so don’t mind in the least.

I hope you enjoyed this card. I’ve listed all the products I used below. Cheryl XX
