Hi everyone, it’s Cheryl here with you today, and I’ve created an easy to follow layered scrapbooking page using Couture Creations and Tina Ollett’s Seaside Girl collection!

As you might know by now, I am not someone who creates scrapbooking layouts much, most of my projects are cards or smaller and off the page craft creations. In fact, this is probably only my fourth EVER scrapbooking layout. I like to grow in whatever I am doing though and eventually excel, so I decided if I am ever going to learn to make great layouts, then I have to study them, and make more.

So.. that’s exactly what I did, I hope you like this simple and easy to follow layered project and that it inspires you to try something a little out of your comfort zone! I really enjoyed creating this scrapbooking layout for you and look forward to creating even more as I improve alongside all of you crafty people out there. Be sure to share your own creations on our facebook page, our design team would love to see your projects and have your help to inspire us and our community to bring our hopes, dreams and memories to life through craft whether it be cards, scrapbooking layouts or off the page creations.

To begin I cut some different sized rectangles and a large circle using some nesting dies I had on hand and the help of my new Couture Creations guillotine. I also cut a rope border from the Seaside Girl Mini Dies and a couple of sentiments from the cardmaking page for a few extra points of interest and selected some of my favourite pieces of ephemera (and don’t forget a good photo!).

Then I played around a bit with where I wanted all the pieces to sit and when I was happy, took a quick photo with my phone to remember where I was going to put everything and then started on the layering!

I haven’t used any complicated techniques in this latest layout but I have used foam dots/tape behind each of the main elements as I put them down to give the whole a more layered effect in various areas and help with adding interest and drawing your eye across this crafty little piece.

I find these little touches have made it a perfect fit for adding to a shadow frame to display in the home or even in at work for some added colour and inspiration. In the current climate its always a good thing to have some sunny seaside memories to keep you company!
