Hello papercrafters, today we have a Guest Artist May McKell , who has created some wonderful cards with our Earthy Delights Collection. Mary has been sharing her creations with us for a few months and we were so impressed with her wonderful creations. She will be featuring some of her creations using our Product from time to time. Today she has created these Multi Diamond Acetate cards with the Earthy Delights collection of papers, acetate and cardstock. Check out her full tutorial with full step by step instructions at the end of this blog post. But Firstly, here is a little info about Mary and some of her wonderful creations she has created and shared with us.
Hello everyone, my name is Mary McKell. I am so excited to be joining as Guest Artist with Couture Creations. I am a very keen card maker and I have a group of very enthusiastic ladies who love to join me and make cards every week. I discovered scrapbooking about 18 years ago and fell in love with all things in papercraft, but I recently discovered card making and I enjoy created and exploring different types of cards, something I enjoy immensely. Thanks for sharing Mary ! and here is her special Multi Diamond Acetate Cards step by step tutorial created with the Couture Creations Earthy Delights collection.
Cut the following as follows:
IVORY CARD:
- 2 x 6”x 6” [Card base and Back.]
- 1 x 4”x 4” [Card to write on.]
- 8 x 2”x 2” [ Bottom layer of diamond panels]
- 1 x 3”x 3” [Bottom layer of center diamond]
- 1 x 2”x 2½” [ Mechanism] Score at ½“, 1¼“, and 2”. This will be Mountain, Valley, Mountain.
BURNT SIENNA:
- 2 x 5¾” square.
- 1 x 2¾”square
- 4 x 1¾”square.
EARTHY DELIGHTS PAPER:
- 4 x 1¾”square
ACETATE:
- 1 x 6”x 6½”, Score on 6½’” side at 6”. Burnish well.
Die cut a sentiment on the diagonal using a 2½” square die. Adhere all corresponding layers together.
Place 3D tape under each of the small diamonds. Start on the left side of the acetate with the patterned diamonds. The first diamond will be left side of acetate and the tip at the top of the acetate, next, the second one will go to the right side with the tip at the top of the acetate.
The 3rd and 4th diamonds will be directly underneath these. Next, line up 1 of the coloured card diamonds at the top of the acetate between the patterned paper ones. The remainder will be between each of the patterned ones to form a diamond. Adhere the sentiment panel to the center of the diamond with glue. Adhere the acetate panel to the front [ 2 layered] panel of the card.
Now adhere the 3 layered panel to the back of this.
Tape or glue the mechanism to the card underneath the acetate panel. [ This will prevent the card from being opened fully and revealing all the tape under the acetate.]
