Hi Everyone,
Let me introduce myself, I’m Fiona Elliott and I am so excited to have been asked by Couture Creations to be a Guest Designer. A huge thanks to them for adding me to their talented team. I am know as Elliomoon on social media. I am a self-taught Australian Artist. My art journey started about 2 years ago, currently I teach Alcohol Ink classes from home and for Two Sisters Art in Kingaroy, Qld. I have also just introduced personal classes where I come to you.
Why do I love alcohol ink?
Alcohol Ink is very versatile, you don’t need to be able to draw to create something beautiful that enhances your imagination. You can also do fine detailed work and abstract techniques that I will be showing you through my blog posts.
Here are some things I would love to show you how to create:
· How to blow the inks with a hand blower tool.
· How to control the inks using a paint bush.
· Alcohol Ink Markers.
· How to blend alcohol inks.
· Colour mixing.

So for my first blog post, My project features a design of Gum Leaves with Blossoms using Alcohol Inks. I have produced a video for you to help with the process of creating this image.
Here are a few tips and tricks that I like to follow to achieve the best results. Test your alcohol inks first on a separate scrap sheet as all inks will move a little differently. Have a play at mixing different colours together. To create a smooth transition of colour, put down your first alcohol ink colour. Add some blending solution and then add your second colour. This is a wet-on-wet technique that will help when you want to achieve a smooth look with no harsh lines. You may need to use the tip of fine brush to move them closer together if the first ink is has already dried.
